Getting to Know a Star Athlete: Beverly (Goebel) Yanez
Nuzest is pleased to introduce Beverly (Goebel) Yanez as its newest ambassador. Beverly grew up in Moreno Valley, California and currently plays for Seattle Reign FC of the National Women’s Soccer League. Beverly is a great athlete and super duper person. Let’s take a moment to get to know Beverly.
A. I play women’s professional soccer for the Seattle Reign FC, and I am thankful everyday to do what I love. I come from a family of 5 siblings and I have 17 nieces and nephews. Any free time I have, I spend it with my family and my husband. Family is everything to me. I want to continue to inspire young boys and girls to chase their dreams. If you work hard and stay true to yourself, positive things will happen!
Q. What does being a Nuzest ambassador mean to you?
A. It means I can stay properly nourished in preparation for games and recover quickly after games. I am so thankful for the opportunity to share my love for Nuzest and all it has done for me competing at the highest level. It is a great brand with great people!
Q. How do you make healthy choices and avoid temptations when it comes to your nutrition?
A. Once you start eating healthy, you feel your body function so much better and you sleep better. It is easier to avoid temptations once you feel healthy.
Q. What is your favorite indulgence?
A. Dark chocolate and vegan mighty-o-donuts
Q. What is your favorite healthy snack?
A. GoMacro and peanut butter, banana on toast.
Q. When not on the field, how do you stay active and fit?
A. I walk to the grocery store. I try and make sure to do small subtle things like this that can keep me healthy.
Q. What is your favorite form of exercise (besides soccer)?
Q. What are your favorite songs on your workout playlist these days?
A. That’s what I like (Bruno Mars), J.Cole (Apparently), Party (Beyoncé, ft. J Cole)
Q. Aside from being a soccer superstar, what do you do for fun?
A. I like to cook vegan meals, go to the movies, hang out with my husband. 🙂
Q. What advice do you have for people wanting to kick-start a healthy lifestyle or to pump up their nutrition?
A. Don’t give up! Being healthy doesn’t happen overnight, keep giving it your best effort and you will feel a difference. Read articles, and books on eating healthy so you can properly develop and opinion on what is healthy eating. If you do lots of business calls or emails, answer them while walking around a track or your neighborhood. You’ll be surprised how much you can get done and how much exercise you will accomplish.
